IDEO has worked on over 50 projects for Apple Computer, including the docking systems for Apple’s Powerbook Duo computers. Apple says that the IDEO-designed docking technology is "the key to enabling Macintosh Duo System users to go from notebook computing to desktop computing easily."
IDEO’s development work included engineering three types of docking mechanisms: the Macintosh Duo Dock, the Duo MiniDock, and the floppy adapter.
